Sitka: Fish Skin Tanning Workshop DAY 2
Fairbanks, Cooperative Extension
Join Karen Denis McIntyre of Creative Native for a two-day evening series on creating and working with salmon skin leather. Karen is of Yup’ik and Irish descent and learned how to work with fish skin in June 2014. She has continued to learn from others while creating fish skin baskets, leather, and jewelry as well as teaching classes.
This workshop series will meet at the University of Alaska Southeast to learn how to process, treat, and create salmon skin leather. The cost, including meals, is $125.
Take home the salmon leather you create at this event.
The deadline to enroll is 5 p.m. on May 1.
