At the Alaska Food Policy Council, we envision healthy, secure, abundant food systems that feed all Alaskans.

About

The Alaska Food Policy Council (AFPC) connects, advocates, and informs to strengthen food systems for all Alaskans. We work across the state to build more equitable, resilient, and sustainable food systems that support healthy communities, economic opportunities, and culturally appropriate food access.

Founded in response to growing concerns about food insecurity and Alaska’s heavy reliance on imported food, AFPC brings together a diverse network of partners, including community leaders, policymakers, researchers, producers, fishers, and advocates. We champion policies and initiatives that promote food sovereignty, local food production, and access to nutritious, affordable food.

Through collaboration, education, and policy change, AFPC is helping to shape a food future where all Alaskans can thrive.
