Spring 2024 Fairbanks Master Gardener Class

Cooperative Extension (CES), Alaska

Location: Fairbanks - University Park 108 Cooperative Extension Classroom

This in-person class teaches the fundamentals of gardening in Alaska. Topics include planning, botany, soil science, soil sample interpretation, organic and conventional fertilizer recommendations and much more.

This course aims to train volunteers in the fundamentals of horticulture so that they may serve their communities as "gardening educators." Participants who complete the course and donate a minimum of 40 hours will be awarded the title "Master Gardener."

Registration is available online at bit.ly/FairbanksMG. The fee is $250 and includes materials. Class is limited to a maximum of 40 participants.

Registration closes at 5 p.m. on March 13.

The class meets Wednesdays, March 20-June 5, 5-8 p.m., at the UAF University Park Building, 1000 University Ave., Room 108. The class is led by Tamara Bell, co-teaching with Steve Brown, agriculture, horticulture and natural resources agent for UAF Cooperative Extension Service in Palmer.
